Our baby girl is an eating machine!!!

So, Katie went to the pediatrician for her 4 month checkup. She weighed 12 lbs. 11 oz. (40th percentile) and was 22 inches (10th percentile). Her pediatrician, Dr. Livingston, told us that she was ready to start rice cereal. However, with her bowel issues, he is having us use oatmeal instead. So, we mixed some up tonight, thinking she would only take one bite and spit it out. NOPE... She learned how to open her mouth when she wanted more. She took bite after bite after bite before we finally had to stop her. She would've eaten the entire bowl if we had let her!

Here are a couple pictures of her eating:

And here she is afterwards:

And just for those of you that are interested... Here are a couple videos of her eating:

She CAN ROLL OVER!!!

Emma and Katie had a sleepover on Friday night. I was getting Emma into the bathtub while Katie was having tummy time. I walked out of the room for maybe 30 seconds, and when I came back she wasn't on her tummy anymore. I went into the kitchen to ask Matt if he rolled her over, and he said, "Nope.. She just rolled over." I couldn't believe that he didn't like scream and yell or something. I missed her first rolling over, but Daddy made it in the room just in time to see it. Emma also got to see her do it.

Check out the video of her rolling over!!!

EXCUSE the wild laughter at the end.. It was my first time to see her, and I just couldn't help myself!

Dear Katie,

You have blossomed into such a fun and sweet little girl this past month. It took you a while to start smiling, but you never stop now! It is just so sweet. Mommy absolutely loves to bring you into the jacuzzi tub with her. Even though Mommy goes to work now, she never stops thinking about you. You are constantly on both of our minds all day long - you are our pride and joy.

We love you, little one!

Love,

Mommy and Daddy

2010 Snow Weekend

We have had a FABULOUS snow weekend! We were supposed to get another ice storm, but we got 5 inches of snow instead. It was so nice to be home with Katie :o) Here are some of the things we did over the weekend.

Daddy played with Katie a lot - she adores him, and he adores her!

Katie loves to look at her black and white flashcards on Mommy's laptop. Daddy likes to explain to her what the shapes are (or what he thinks they are).

Daddy tried to make a snow angel with Katie, but she screamed the entire time.

We all bundled up and took Cooper for a walk - he loved the snow, and we enjoyed getting out of the house for a bit.

Just a sweet picture of Mommy and Katie all bundled up!

Pretty sure we made every possible silly face/noise to get this little girl to smile - her smile just brightens our day!

We read a lot! This was actually while the power was out and we had to read instead of watch t.v.

Mommy sat by the fireplace and enjoyed the heat!

So did Katie :o)

All in all, we had the best snow weekend ever. We also made orange snow cones and snow ice cream, but we didn't take pictures of those :o) Oh, and we slept until 10:00 every day, but we couldn't really take a picture of that either!
A lot of the teachers were complaining about having to go to school late, but I don't care because that was just one extra day I got to spend with my precious, little baby :o)

Back to Work

So, I managed to be a working mom all week long. It was a long, hard week. On Monday morning, Matt and I took Katie to Nanny's (my grandma - Katie's great grandma) early Monday morning. We walked in the door and Katie immediately started smiling at Nanny - what a reassuring feeling for Mommy.

Katie had a GREAT day Monday, a rough day Tuesday, and GREAT days Wednesday-Friday. Nanny also managed to get Miss Priss on a schedule :o)

Her new schedule:

6:30 - Wake up time

6:45 - Nurse

7:15 - Arrive at Nanny's, Play time with Nanny

8:00 - Morning Nap

10:00 - Bottle

10:30 - Playtime with Nanny and Papa

12:30 - Bottle

1:00 - Afternoon Nap

3:30 - Mommy arrives (she has to wait on Katie)

4:00 - Wake up and Nurse then go home!

6:30 - Nurse

7:30 - Bathtime

8:00 - Nurse

8:30 - Bedtime

10:00 - Dreamfeed

It is going really well! I am enjoying being back at work and back on a schedule. I miss Katie so much during the day and have learned that "bribing" my students with getting to look at Katie's pictures is such a great incentive :o) Plus... Mommy gets to see pictures of her beautiful girl a lot!

I am going to have to figure out how to get the lesson plans, grading papers, and getting things together for school plus spend time with Katie. It is hard, but I think I can handle it. My principal is being very leniant with my requirements these days!

Just a sweet picture of little miss :o)

Dear Precious Katie,
We can't believe you are already 2 months old. It seems like yesterday that we met you for the first time and now you are smiling at us! You have made these last 2 months so special for us. We love everything about you - your smile, your fussiness (though, we wish we could help you more), your mohawk and mullet, your little fat rolls, your crossed eyes when you are too close to something, your fascination with your hands, and just your sweet face.
We can't wait to see what all will happen next month with you! We love you so much, little one :o)
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
