So, I had to take Katie to the pediatrician on Monday for her awful cough. She had the same thing in December, and the doctor said it was just a cold and gave us an inhaler to use if it got worse. So, this time around, I was all prepared. I had the inhaler, we did steam baths, etc. On Sunday, it still wasn't getting any better. So, I made an appointment and took her to see Dr. Livingston. He listened to her lungs and didn't hear any wheezing (RSV symptom). So, he decided to check her ears and sure enough.... She had fluid on her right ear creating an ear infection. There wasn't any pressure, though. So, she isn't in pain. The infection has caused the stuffy nose and awful cough. My poor baby has to take Amoxicillin 2x a day for 10 days. YUCK! Actually, she doesn't seem to mind it :o)
Other than her constant coughing and runny nose, you would never know that my little princess is sick! She is still laughing, smiling, and playing like her normal self!
She also weighed 14 lbs. 10 oz!!! She is getting to be so big! I LOVE IT!!!

It is no fun to have a sick baby, but be glad that the ear infection is not painful. Aidan has had about 9 ear infections and they have all been very painful for him and we've had lots of sleepless nights! Glad to see you are enjoying being a mom. Reid has a double ear infection and is doing the same antibiotics. Stupid ear infections!!
